About us

Our story at a glance

While teaching in Bradford for three years, Dr. Abdulrahman Mkia (ALC's Founder) saw students struggling. They knew grammar but couldn't hold a real conversation. Often, classes weren't taught by native speakers, leaving learners disconnected from how Arabic is truly spoken.

He founded ALC to bridge that gap—to teach Arabic the way it's lived, not just memorised. This commitment led to a key partnership with Akdem Istanbul. Today, we teach Miftah Al-Arabiyya, and upon completing each level, students receive official certificates from Istanbul.

From the very first ALC Arabic class in Bradford in 2014, with just a small group of students, our family has grown to reach over 200 learners.
