Ijāzah is more than a certificate. It is a direct, scholarly authorization to teach the Quran, verifying that you have mastered its recitation and connected to an unbroken chain (sanad) back to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Achieving Ijāzah involves a complete Khatmah (recitation of the entire Quran) by heart under a certified teacher, coupled with deep mastery of Tajweed theory. Option of reading by looking is also available and is called "Khatm Dabt".
